Ingredients

1 3/4 cups bourbon

1/3 cups granulated white sugar

1 vanilla bean split

2 cups fresh or dehydrated blueberries (washed)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the bourbon, sugar, and vanilla to a simmer over low heat. Simmer and stir until the sugar dissolves, then turn off the heat and let sit for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Pack your blueberries into one 25-ounce jars. Snuggle them into the jars nice and tight without smashing them. Pour the syrup over the berries in the jar until it covers the fruit completely. If you have any leftover syrup, you can use it to make a cocktail!
  3. Place the vanilla bean into the jar and place lids on tight and store the berries in the refrigerator. They should be used within one year
